Thursday, ABC’s The View had a very emotional segment on bullying. Philadelphia teen Nadin Khoury, 13, was the victim of a vicious attack by a group of schoolmates where he was drug across the snowy ground, placed in a tree, and hung up on a seven foot wrought-iron fence where they left him. Video of the attack, taken by one of the attackers, has been removed from You Tube, most likely for legal reasons. As you can guess, the young assailants are in big trouble, having been arrested during the investigation of this unnecessary crime.

Love and Reality: Shaquille O’Neal Edition
When will society’s thirst for reality t.v. disappear? With the onslaught of sports figures and, ahem, figurines filling up our flat screens with their drama and fab lifetyles, we can expect to see more wives, girlfriends, “baby mommas” and the men who love/hate them. Face it, folks, this formula is WINNING.
This time, it’s Shaq’s turn. The Big Aistotle and the object of his affection, Nicole “Hoopz” Alexander, of Flavor of Love fame will have their own reality show. You can get all the deets from Ms. Munroe over at Jocks and Stiletto Jill.
Volkswagen’s Super Bowl Commercial Already at 6 Million Hits
I am a VW Passat driver. I love my car, so this commercial, The Force, probably makes me warmer and fuzzier than most. This spot speaks to the kid in us all. I vividly remember running around the house as a child in my own fantasy land, and there certainly were times when my parents “made things happen” that completely blew my mind. The lil’ fella in this commercial was hilarious in his shock and awe that his “powers” finally worked and the force was with really with him.
This commercial is a winner because it taps into the imagination with a simplicity and pureness that we all want to hold on to – that we can do ANYTHING.
6 million You Tube hits before Super Bowl Sunday? Could this be an unprecedented feat?
Great job Volkswagen. Can’t wait to test drive the new model!
Resurgent Chicago Bulls Making Great Strides
This year’s surprising Chicago Bulls are establishing themselves as a legitimate contender in the Eastern Conference of the NBA. They have accomplished this while sustaining long absences associated with injuries to key players Carlos Boozer (6 weeks) and Joakim Noah (8-10 weeks?).
Derrick Rose has played himself into star status and a possible MVP choice with his consistently stellar penetration scoring, enhanced assists, and much improved 3-point shot. To date, the team is 34 and 14. Minus Noah, they are battling Miami for the second best record in the East. Wow! Rose has been sensational. On more than a few nights he carried the team when it stalled offensively, flashing the kind of grit and determination reminiscent of that displayed by champions.
Meet Faith Rein – The Anti-Basketball Wife?
Faith Rein is Miami Heat power forward Udonis Haslem’s lady. They have been together since the beginning of time in terms of sports relationships. Rain was a sprinter at the University of Florida where Haslem played collegiate ball.
