Carmelo Anthony wins NBA scoring title

Carmelo Anthony is the league’s best scorer this season.

He edged Kevin Durant (28.1 ppg), when Durant opted not to play the Oklahoma City Thunder’s final game of the season against Milwaukee.

Anthony, who will also sit out the final game of the season (Knicks host the Hawks), ends the season averaging 28.7 ppg. This marks his first career scoring title.

Heading into the playoffs, Melo and the New York Knicks are currently second behind the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference standings.
