Reggie Bush Is A Miami Dolphin

The New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins have agreed on a deal which will send running back Reggie Bush to Miami. The deal became official once terms of a new contract (2 years) were solidified, and Bush agreed.

In the end, Bush’s grand-scheme-of-things productivity didn’t compare to the salary he was receiving from the Saints. Couple that with the drafting of Alabama RB and 75th Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram, and Bush’s fate was sealed.

I’ll give him credit, though. He danced with the media on this one until the dance floor became too crowded, expressing his gratitude to the Saints organization and his desire to remain in New Orleans. Oh, to be politically correct.

Moreso…. oh, to be playing and living in Miami. In this case, Reggie Bush will get the last laugh.

Amar’e Stoudemire Will Bring Us Fashion, Sports Via New Web Venture

Sports and fashion have always offered an interesting and appealing mix; a winning formula.  There is something about athleticism, money and access that is magnetic, and people can’t seem to get enough. Cases in point? Walt Frazier and Joe Namath.

Frazier and Namath were arguably the “cleanest” cats of their time. Money, clothes, and h…, well, you get the gist, right?

Amar’e Stoudemire understands the formula.

NCAA OUCH: Butch Davis Fired By North Carolina

Change is coming in Chapel Hill because Butch Davis caught the gauntlet today from the University of North Carolina.

The school released a statement after its Board of Trustees met and decided Davis’ fate.

Chancellor Holden Thorp says the decision was not prompted by any changes in the ongoing NCAA investigation into possible improper benefits and academic misconduct in the football program.

Rather, Thorp says he “lost confidence in our ability to come through this without harming the way people think of this institution.”

SOURCE

Basically, the tarnishing of the program is not acceptable and the man had to go. Coaches usually take the fall in situations like this (see Jim Tressel), BUT coaching is a fraternity of sorts so another job is just around the bend.

Butch Davis coached the Tar Heels for four seasons, but the program began to take heat when it was revealed that there were possible rules violations regarding gifts and sports agents.

Every year this story replays itself on campuses across the country and a sports program takes a hit because the NCAA refuses to reinvent itself. They’re a hard-headed bunch.

[VIDEO] NFL Players Take TIme To Thank Their Fans

NFLPA

Proper public relations efforts go a long way towards good will and the NFLPA knows it.

In simple, straightforward form, a group of NFL players sat before a camera and expressed their gratitude towards the fans who stuck by them throughout the ups and downs of the lockout.

Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth summed it up nicely, didn’t he?…

We thank you for being supportive of us throughout this process. We were trying to make the game better for those guys who played it in the past, the present and in the future. We appreciate your support and we look forward to a great football season. We got this thing done, now let’s play some ball.

One of the challenges for the NFL is the fans difficulty in identifying and connecting to the players because of the helmets they must wear. Videos such as this give fans an opportunity to see the guys up close and personal. Win-win.

The 2011-12 regular season kicks off in Lambeau Field, September 8th, 8:30 PM ET, as the New Orleans Saints visit the Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers.
