Bart Scott Sells “Can’t Wait” Tee Shirts To Aid Eric LeGrand Foundation

Who can forget Bart Scott‘s emotionally charged post-game interview with Sal Paolantonio last season? The New York Jets had just beaten the New England Patriots to advance to the AFC Championship game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Scott was HYPED.

The term “Can’t Wait” became a cult hit and now Bart Scott has used that momentum to aid a fallen comrade.

In October 2010, Rutgers University football player Eric LeGrand suffered paralysis after making a tackle during a game against Army.

Touched by the incident, Scott decided to take his popular phrase, create tee shirts and donate all the proceeds to help LeGrand.

Fast forward to present day and according to the tee shirt website:

Eric has begun to make significant progress in therapy, regaining movement in his shoulders and sensation throughout his body.

Although Eric faces a long and difficult road ahead, in terms of rehabilitation he still has optimism. He is quoted as saying.”I believe that I will walk one day…I believe it”. Bart believes so much in Eric’s unrelenting drive and commitment to recovery that he is donating every dollar form the T-Shirt sales to the Eric LeGrand Patriot Saint Foundation. The Eric LeGrand Patriot Saint Foundation is an organization dedicated to aiding the support and welfare of Eric and his family.

This is a tremendous gesture of kindness from Bart Scott. He even enlisted the help of some of his Jets teammates like Mark Sanchez and Ladanian Tomlinson as models on the site. If you are able, visit cantwait57.com, and purchase a shirt. The price is $24, plus shipping and tax, a small price to pay for a young man who sacrificed a great deal in playing the game he loves.

ESPN’s Eric LeGrand story:

Just this month, LeGrand was honored at a high school all-star game in New York State, video shows him smiling and in good spirits – check it out.
