Albert Haynesworth Traded To Patriots

Fresh starts continue to abound in the NFL as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Washington Redskins trade defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth to the New England Patriots for a 2013 fifth round pick.

Some guys have nine lives….

Albert Haynesworth, who began his NFL career as a Tennessee Titan, signed a 7-year, $100 million dollar contract with the Redskins in 2009, but thats about all he did.

The following season, he skipped OTA’s, sat out mini camp, demanded a trade, and failed a conditioning test more than once. Add to that, a few legal and character issues, and you can see why the Redskins bid him farewell (although Donovan McNabb didn’t do one iota of all that stuff and he was shipped out too).

It will be interesting to see how Big Al conducts himself under the death stares of Bill Belichick. They mean business in New England and no one will have time for Haynesworth’s shenanigans.

He’s due to make $5 million dollars and will earn every penny. Besides, its time he realize he is on the down swing of his career and will be best served to straighten up and fly right. It’s a shame for all that talent to go to waste.
