Seems like it was just yesterday Isiah Thomas was hired as head coach of the Florida International University Men’s Basketball program.

Now he is out of a job.

According to CollegeBasketballTalk, Thomas was relieved of his coaching duties Friday.

Upon his 2009 hiring, expectations were high for what Thomas could do with the Golden Panthers, and at the time it seemed like a great escape for the NBA legend after all the drama between he and the New York Knicks organization. But, it was an inglorious tenure, and now the school is searching for a new coach.

Don’t weep for Zeke, though. Strangely, he always seems to land on his feet. Maybe someone will give him an analyst position. Maybe.
