Pam Oliver

The nominees for the 32nd Annual Sports Emmy Awards were recently announced. Familiar and popular names like Chris Berman and Charles Barkley were front and center, and shows like Hard Knocks and E:60 are all up for consideration, but I could not help but notice that there was no outright female representation listed.

Taking On Tyson – Episode 4 Recap

“I just wanna do something that I believe is um, a good thing. I need to feel that I’m worth something, and this makes me feel like I’m worth something…..you know what I mean? Helping people less fortunate.”

Episode for begins with Tyson paying a visit to the New Jersey branch of the Police Athletic League. He participates in a fun game of dodgeball with the kids in a nearby park, then returns to the facility for some Q & A. The kids are so enamoured with him, and affectionately call him, “Mike Tyson.” Its heartwarming to hear them refer to him this way.

Blake Griffin Downloads The Kiss for AT&T

In a new commercial spot for AT&T, we find the high-flying, electrifying Blake Griffin showcasing some new dunks for his friends. They seem unimpressed until he hits them with the “Download The Kiss” dunk where he uses his new Motorola ATRIX 4G smartphone to download a video of a pretty girl giving him a kiss on the cheek after he slams one down.

Check it for yourself….

Very clever, right?

This would have shut the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest all the way DOWN!

Sidenote 1: The voiceover is done by my homeboy Inny Clemons. Chicago, STAND UP!

Sidenote 2: AT&T has just purchased T Mobile for $39 billion. Wowzers. They have instantly put themselves in the midst of all things NBA.

Damon Wayans to be Cowherd-esque in CBS Sports Sitcom

Damon Wayans as a feisty sports radio host? Could be.

The comedian is set to star in a show based on the life and times of ESPN personality Colin Cowherd, who some would say is the network’s resident fire starter.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wayans has solidified a deal to star in the CBS pilot as character Nick Herd.

It matters not that these two men are of different races (Cowherd is Caucasian), Wayans will slay this character, and I mean that in a good way.

Cowherd will join the project as a producer. I certainly hope this gets picked up.

Range Rovers have long been a staple in an athlete’s fleet. I know this well, because during my 310 Motoring days we customized MANY of them.
