Monday night the Playboy All-Star Celebrity Kickoff party was held at Boulevard 3 in Hollywood.
Its ESPY’s week in LA and the sports stars are all up and through.

According to Lakers Nation, Joe Bryant, father of one Kobe Bean Bryant, will take over the helm as head coach for the Los Angeles Sparks, replacing Jennifer Gillom. The news was announced by Penny Toler, team VP and General Manager. Prior to the announcement, Bryant was an assistant coach on Gillom’s staff.
Most times Jumbotron entertainment at a sporting event is lame. A refreshing change of pace came when a little boy, who appears to be between the ages of 8-10, arose from his seat at Safeco Field, home of the Seattle Mariners, to rock the crowd with his version of Michael Jackson’s Thriller video.
Rudy Gay is not the only one in the family with talent. His sister Brett Gay just released new music via iTunes and she has a beautiful voice.
According to her website, BrettGayMusic.com, Brett has been singing for years and was once in a group (Black Angel) with her sisters. Rudy and Brett’s parents were both professional singers so the musical talent is in the genes.
Take a listen to Brett’s EP and I suggest downloading it because its good music. I’m a ballad girl, so “Addicted” is my favorite track.

After Derek Jeter made his 3000th hit Saturday at Yankee Stadium, his fellow baseball players and other athletes alike took to Twitter to congratulate him. I especially love pitcher David Price‘s tweets, who pitched the historic ball to Jeter and became a trending topic because of it.

Seek the word “classy” in the dictionary and certainly you will find a picture of Derek Jeter there.
Jeter has played his entire career in a New York Yankees uniform, essentially becoming the modern day face of the franchise.
He’s been dubbed Captain Clutch and Mr. November, but now Mr. 3000 can be added to the list. Saturday, the All-Star short stop gained his 3000th hit in front of a sold out home crowd and friends and family, including his parents, sister, and girlfriend/actress Minka Kelly.
Derrick Thomas 1967 − 2000
Derrick Thomas was one of the best football players to ever play in the National Football League. Tragically, Thomas died in 2000 from a pulmonary embolism after suffering paralysis sustained in a car accident.
Fox Sports contributor Peter Schrager named Thomas as the best player in Kansas City Chiefs history.
