Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul are spending their off-season, and lockout time touring with Jordan Brand.

The gentleman are spreading cheer, goodwill and basketball across China. In the video they can be seen in Hong Kong greeting fans, signing autographs, touring sites, and coaching exhibition games. I suggest you check the woman at the 1:04 mark to get an idea of the rockstar status the two are on while there. She looked like a proud Auntie, soooooo delighted and cute….

Sports Illustrated Features Larry Fitzgerald On August Cover

Larry Fitzgerald Sports Illustrated

The August 2011 cover of Sports Illustrated reads “Game Time,” and now that the NFL Lockout is over, it can be said with certainty and excitement.

Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald sits on the cover seemingly focused and ready for the season to begin. With a new, capable quarterback in Kevin Kolb under center, Fitzgerald’s deep threat skills will go uninterrupted.

Larry finished the 2010 season with 90 receptions for 1,137 yards and six touchdowns. Please believe he will be looking to trump that this year.

There are also whispers that Braylon Edwards could join Fitzgerald and Kolb in AZ. Stay tuned for that news as/if it breaks.

Antonio Cromartie Tweets Of His Return To The New York Jets

Antonio Cromartie

Late night Twitter is a special place if you’re a night owl.  One never knows the goodies that will come across the timeline.

Antonio Cromartie gave up the goods by sharing the news of his return to his starting cornerback position with the New York Jets.

Feels good to be back, right Cro?

I can’t imagine how he was feeling behind all the Nnamdi Asomugha talk, but that’s water under the bridge.  Its time to shut some receivers down.

Dennis Rodman Selects Phil Jackson As His Hall Of Fame Presenter

According to Piston Powered, Phil Jackson will introduce Dennis Rodman during his Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame induction, per Rodman’s wishes.

Rodman was a member of the Phil Jackson-coached Chicago Bulls during the ’95 − 97 seasons, when the Bulls accomplished their second three-peat.

Jackson once said of him, “Rodman is the greatest athlete I’ve ever coached.”

Mind you, Jackson coached Michael Jordan, and clearly, he’s no chopped liver.

The 2011 Enshrinement Ceremony will be held Friday, August 12th at Naismith headquarters in Springfield, Massachusetts. Rodman’s fellow inductees are Teresa Edwards, Tara Vanderveer, Arvydas Sabonis, Reese Tatum, Artis Gilmore, Tom Sanders, Herb Magee, Chris Mullin, and Tex Winter. It must be noted that Tex Winter was a member of Phil Jackson’s coaching staff and the architect of the infamous “triangle offense.”

Nnamdi Asomugha Joins Phildelphia Eagles, 5 Years, $60 Million

The greatest mystery during 2011 NFL Free Agency has been solved, and in a very surprising fashion. Nnmadi Asomugha (Nom-dee Ah-sum-wah) has reached a 5-year, $60 million agreement ($25M guaranteed) to join the Philadelphia Eagles.

Widely considered one of the best cornerbacks to play the game, and certainly the best overall free agent available this season, Nnamdi Asomugha leaves the Oakland Raiders to join Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson in the City of Brotherly Love.

The Eagles also brought in former Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young on a 1-year contract to back up Michael Vick.

How fun will the Eagles be to watch this season? The rest of the NFC East has officially been put on notice.

Jeff Lurie and Andy Reid are doin’ it!

TWITPIC: Ochocinco, Tom Brady Greet Each Other On Field

Chad Ochocinco and Tom BradyChad Ochocinco and Tom Brady shook hands today on the practice field in Foxboro at New England Patriot’s training camp.

An hour ago, Chad tweeted his feelings about the day:

It's 1 thing to jump and be able to land on 2 feet but I had no idea I was landing in Heaven.Hope all is well on this good Friday.
@ochocinco
Chad Ochocinco

Ochocinco agreed to a restructured 3-year deal Thursday and will be able to participate with his new teammates in camp after 4 PM ET, once his contract is signed.

He spent the last ten years as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals, so this is a significant change for his career.  Does a new city, new coach, new team and QB equal a new Chad?  We shall see.

I am expecting big things from 85.  Y’all better get ready, too.
