Kobe Bryant out indefinitely with sever ankle sprain
Kobe Bryant is injured. He went down with a severely sprained ankle Wednesday night against the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena.
Bryant was hurt on the final play of the game when Dahntay Jones undercut him as he released a shot.
While preliminary x-rays were negative, Bryant said….
First and foremost, I think officials really need to protect shooters,” Bryant started out his press conference. “Defensive players, you can contest shots but you can’t walk underneath players. That’s dangerous for the shooter….”
“It’s just a very very dangerous play,” Bryant added. “Especially if I’m fading away, there is no rhyme or reason why I should come down anywhere near somebody’s foot.
Needless to say, Kobe is NOT happy. This doesn’t gel with his plans for the Lakers to win it all this year. It doesn’t bode well for his ego, either, because he indicated that he wanted revenge next season.
Seriously, Bean? Revenge?
For the record, Jones tweeted his remorse for what happened, but contends that his intention was not to hurt Bryant.
I have the utmost respect for @kobebryant I would never try to intentionally hurt him. Just wanted to contest the fadeaway #thatsall
