Willie Mays
Born May 6, 1931, in Westfield, Alabama, Willie Howard Mays is one of baseball’s most beloved icons.
Mays played center-field with the San Francisco Giants and later in his career with the New York Mets. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1979.
Willie Mays began his professional baseball career playing Negro League Baseball and is godfather to Barry Bonds.
