DeMarcus Ware Sacrifices $60K for NFL Colleagues

In a show of soidarity and unselfishness, Dallas Cowboys Linebacker DeMarcus Ware forfeited his share of the NFLPA’s Lockout Fund in hopes that players who have greater need can be helped. Although the Player’s Association encouraged its members to save game checks last season in preparation for the current lockout, all is not equal in the League and some paychecks are much larger than others.

Reports of players securing high-interest loans are surfacing, and the uncertainty of when this lockout will end has families on edge.

Perhaps other players will or have already followed suit behind Ware and forgone their $60,000 share as well.

Thursday, the union and team owners will resume negotiations behind a court order from Unites States District Judge Susan Richard Nelson.

In more news, Ware and former teammate Preston pearson hosted Taste of the NFL, an annual Cowboys event to raise money for meals for needy children in North Texas. SOURCE.
