Jay-Z, FOX and a Touchdown

Music is often the soundtrack of life.

Jay-Z

It can turn the most mundane situation into something fantastic and memorable. It can set the tone for any occasion, happy or sad. Sports are much the same. There are tipping points in the best games or events that elicit raw emotion of jubilance or disappointment.

Imagine if there was a soundtrack to your favorite sport. How would that feel?

What if Tina Turner’s Proud Mary were playing in the background during the UConn Women’s Basketball team’s quest today against Florida State, to surpass the UCLA Men’s Basketball consecutive wins record (1971 – 74.)

How funky would it be if Jay-Z’s Encore was played during an Eagles game while Michael Vick picked apart the teams latest unfortunate opponent?

Philadelphia QB Michael Vick

Well, it could hapen sooner than you think……

Fox is actually considering adding a sound track to its NFL football game coverage after testing the idea by adding snippets of music to its coverage of Seattle-San Francisco on Sunday. Says Fox spokesman Dan Bell: “It’s in the experimental stage. But yes, we’d consider doing it again.”

The good folks at Fox Sports should know that Ballertainment thinks its a GREAT idea, and maybe other networks and sports will follow suit.
