Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation To Tackle LA Homelessness

Kobe Bryant has become weary of seeing the suffering of homelessness near his workplace.

If you have ever attended an event at LA’s Staples Center and ventured east of the arena you might be in for a rude awakening.

The magnitude of homeless citizens is staggering and sadly, the City of Los Angeles seems content to keep it contained in that area (the beach cities mirror this scene also).

Tuesday morning, Kobe held a news conference at the non-profit Resource Center, My Friend’s Place to announce the formation of The Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation. The foundation will work to reduce homelessness, create permanent housing and provide educational and career resources, which will include raising funds, improving services and working in conjunction with My Friend’s Place.

Kudos to Kobe for lending a major voice to the homeless epidemic in this city. Downtown LA is becoming more and more cosmopolitan and it is inevitable that the homeless population will suffer the greatest lost. Now there is hope that they too will benefit from beautification and growth that is taking place in that part of town.

Ballanthropy at its best!
