2013 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class announced

According to Profootballhof.com, the selection committee convened in New Orleans ahead of Super Bowl XLVII, and the Class of 2013 is set in stone.

To be enshrined are Larry Allen, Cris Carter, Curley Culp, Jonathan Ogden, Bill Parcells, Dave Robinson, and Warren Sapp.

It was an emotional day in the Big Easy yesterday, as Carter and Sapp, on hand for their ESPN and NFL Network duties, respectfully, shed tears upon learning of their inductions.

Cris Carter credits the Minnesota Vikings, who claimed him off waivers in 1990, as saving his football career and even his life.

Among the players who missed induction this year were defensive ends Charles Haley and Michael Strahan, and defensive back, Aeneas Williams. Hopefully, 2014 will be their year.

The official enshrinement ceremony takes place Saturday, August 3rd, 2013, at Fawcett Stadium in Canton, Ohio.
