David Clowney shares STD test results on Twitter

In what may be a social media first, Buffalo Bills wide receiver David Clowney shared his current HIV status via Twitter.

There are mixed reactions to his news, for example, over at Complex Magazine, it was said to be TMI (too much information,) and at USA Today, he is advised to “focus on catching passes.”   These are just a few of many the not-so-pleased responses, but there is also support for Clowney (this includes (Ballertainment) and his openness and willingness to share his status.

What is being missed here is that, as a society, we don’t talk about HIV/AIDS enough.  It’s swept under the rug like a dirty little secret, when in fact it is a raging behemoth quietly ravaging an entire community and race of people.

Put that in your pipe of machismo and smoke it.

Everyone should get tested!! ,.. Don't wait till HIV/AIDS Awareness Day to find out if you have it or not!!

Let it be said, that David Clowney is no slouch, having completed graduate studies  in Justice Studies at College if Saint Elizabeth, and lending his celebrity to aid victims of Haiti’s devastating 2010 earthquake.
