Derek Fisher traded to the Houston Rockets, is retirement next?

In a big fat question mark moment, the Los Angeles Lakers have traded veteran guard Derek Fisher to the Houston Rockets….

In the deal, the Rockets get Fisher and a first round pick for power forward Jordan Hill. Hill was a first round pick by the New York Knicks out of Arizona in the 2009 NBA draft.

It seems kinda funky to do Fish like this, but its a business, right?

A cold business.

It’s a forgone conclusion that upon retirement, Derek Fisher will have a front office job but one would think the Lakers organization would send him to a more successful situation to close out his career.

Jim Buss is a piece of work.

Best wishes to The Fishers.

BALLER UPDATE:

Whispers around LA indicate that retirement may be Derek Fisher’s next move. Stay tuned…….

Tipping my fedora to SB Nation Los Angeles.

Yes. Best of wishes to a class guy on and off the court (minus the understandable flops here and there) and hopefully Lakers will find a respected position in the front office. A cold business, indeed.

great story, all ways will be a big time player. Personnaly i thought they should have let him retire a Laker.

Derek Fisher should have definitely been afforded the opportunity to finish his career as a Laker. Now it looks like he will be in Oklahoma City which means his old team will see him in the playoffs. That spells trouble!
