Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio has laid down the law. No rookie hazing allowed.
If the vets think they’re gonna tape rookies to goal posts, smear icy hot in their jock straps, send them on ridiculous food runs, dress them up in drag….…. give them awful haircuts, turn them into walking desserts, and berate them along the way, it won’t happen on Del Rio’s watch.
It’s not that the veterans won’t be able to have any fun welcoming the newcomers into the fold, the Rookie Show, where rookies display their talents and sing silly songs on cue will still be allowed, but Del Rio felt that the level of hazing was getting out of hand and he felt the need to usurp control.
To each his own, but as long as the guys aren’t suffering mental or physical distress, a little fun can be good for team moral.
