Hope Arises For Terrelle Pryor With Green Light For NFL Supplemental Draft

Terrelle Pryor will enter the NFL supplemental draft

Although a list of available players has not been released, the NFL has set a tentative date of August 17 for it’s supplemental draft.

This is good news for former Ohio State quarterback, Terrelle Pryor.

Caught up in a scandal that saw his head coach, Jim Tressel, step down from his post, Pryor chose to leave the school and spare any further embarrassment to his family, former teammates, and the university.

Just last month, there was uncertainty in the Pryor camp when the issue of Terrelle’s eligibility to play his final year at Ohio State was in question. If he were able to play for the Buckeyes, he would not be allowed to enter the supplemental draft.

Ohio State set the record straight when they issued a statement saying Pryor’s eligibility was void and that he should refrain from any contact with the program for five years. It was good news, but the NFL lockout overshadowed any thoughts or intentions of a supplemental draft, and Pryor was left in limbo-until now.

Whispers indicate the Cleveland Browns have interest, and perhaps the Miami Dolphins as well.

Whatever the case, Pryor’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus will be ready to wheel and deal. Whether the young man belongs in the NFL now is debatable, but what is certain is his time must be now.

If he is to have any shot at an NFL career, this is it. A delay in his pursuit could spell a dream deferred, indefinitely.
