For the second time, Tawanna Iverson, wife of former NBA player Allen Iverson, has reportedly filed for divorce. Their ten year marriage is coming to an end. Her first filing occurred in March 2010, but their differences must not have been irreconcilable at that time because the petition was dropped.
This time? It seems the Mrs. has now reached her limit.
Who really knows what difficulties plagued the Iverson marriage? Don’t ever let anyone tell you a sports marriage is easy, and understand infidelity is not always the culprit. Time away on the road, injuries, illnesses, in-laws, finances, poor performance, and losing seasons can ALL take a toll.
Hopefully, Allen, Tawanna, their five children and extended family can find healing and peace as the couple moves on.
Iverson recently expressed desire to return to the NBA to finish out his career….

Is that contrition I hear? I would love to see The Answer return to the League, win a ring, and retire on a high note, but only time will tell if any teams feel the same way.
