NFLPA ‘Rookie Debut’ Is Class of 2011 Right of Passage

April 28-30th will mark a family reunion of sorts for the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA).

Players from the past, present, and future will come together in New York City prior to the NFL Draft in an effort to strengthen bonds, forge new relationships, and welcome the incoming players in to the fold.

Among the top prospects expected to attend are Cam Newton, Mark Ingram, and Rahim Moore. Current players set to participate are St. Louis Rams QB, Sam Bradford, Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew, and New York Jets TE Dustin Keller, to name a few. Hall of Fame QB Warren Moon will also be in attendance. Moon has taken on the role of mentor to Cam Newton, who could possibly be taken as the first pick to the Carolina Panther.

The itenerary and a complete list of participants can be found at NFLLockout.com.

All is not coming up roses however, as the NFL may be seeking ways to hinder the “Rookie Debut.”

According to Mike Freeman of CBSSports.com, sources imply that players and their reps are being warned that if they attend the NFLPA event, it could prevent them from crossing the stage at Radio City Music Hall on draft day. Read the full story HERE.

This labor dispute drama is in some instances worse than that I’ve seen on any given “Housewife” or “Wives” show.
