JR Smith named KIA Sixth Man of the Year
JR Smith was named NBA Sixth Man of the Year, to no ones surprise.
The 8-year pro played in 80 games and averaged 18 PPG off the bench this past regular season for the New York Knicks.
The Knicks (2nd seed in the East) have not won a playoff series since ’99-00, so this award gives their already favored team an extra boost in the quest to oust the Boston Celtics.
Game 2 of the Knicks-Celtics series (1-0) will be played Tuesday, 8 ET, at Madison Square Garden.

JR Smith truly deserved this award. He proved something to me by returning to the Knicks this season at a very discount contract and it’s good to see him enjoy individual as well as team success. Let’s go Knicks. Beat Miami.
