Jerry Sandusky has cost Penn State in excess of $41 million behind scandal

The Sandusky sex-abuse scandal has proven to be quite costly for Penn State University.

How much, you ask?

$41 million and counting.

Between the cost of the Freeh Report ($8.1M) and the payments towards the hefty fine levied by the NCAA ($60M), Penn State is reaching way down into its pockets.

The ramifications of the former Penn State coach’s sexual indiscretions with young boys will be long-term. Lawsuits filed by the victims are another cost the university must incur. And, the criminal cases against university personnel figures Tim Curley, Graham Spanier, and Gary Schultz are pending.

More money, more money, more money.

Ultimately, Sandusky was convicted of 45 counts of sexual abuse and received a 30-60 year prison sentence.
