BALLERTAINMENT BIRTHDAY: Michael Jordan turns 50!

Michael Jordan

It’s Michael Jordan’s 50th birthday.

Most people receive gifts on their birthday, but on February 17, 1963, we all received a gift when Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born in Brooklyn, New York to James and Deloris Jordan.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill received a gift in 1981 when Jordan accepted a scholarship to study and play there.

In 1984, the Chicago Bulls received a gift when they selected him third overall in that year’s NBA Draft. (The City of Chicago is most appreciative, by the way).

By the late eighties, Jordan became a gift to the world, as he began to lead his team to their world domination of the nineties.

Between family life, scoring titles, MVP’s, championships, All-Star appearances, dunk contests, Olympic gold medals, Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame induction, historic team ownership, coveted apparel, philanthropy, movies, retirement, un-retirement, baseball, and innumerable, classic commercials, Michael Jordan has been gifting us with jewels for years.

Through his controversies, injuries, and tragedies, he continued to selflessly give to us.

So, the least we can do is thank him, gift him with the finest cigar, some tee time and a Happy 50th birthday wish.

On another note, I wonder if MJ remembers what he said in THIS commercial…

Show and prove, Money. Show and prove.

By the way, MJ had a birthday party Friday night in Houston (site of the 2013 NBA All-Star Weekend) and Stiletto Jill has a nice round up of the star-studded event.
