BALLERTAINMENT BIRTHDAY: Happy 50th, Charles Barkley!

Charles Barkley

Charles Barkley celebrates his 50th birthday

Charles Barkley is 50 years-old today.

Barkley, an Alabama native, who attended Auburn University, is a Hall of Fame NBA player, who was drafted first round by the Philadelphia 76ers in 1984. During his career, he also played for the Phoenix Suns and ended his career as a Houston Rocket months after suffering an injury.

He is an NBA All-Star, one-time league MVP, a member of the NBA’s 50 greatest All-Time Team, an Olympic gold-medalist, and an author (I bought his books).

Charles entertains us on a weekly basis during basketball season as an analyst for the NBA on TNT. A job he can probably keep for as long as he wishes to stay.

He has hustled for T Mobile (remember all those commercials?) and now for Weight Watchers, and is the butt of many jokes about his golf game.

And, Chuck is not perfect. He has been controversial with the slip of the tongue here and there, among other issues that I don’t feel compelled to dive in to.

In a recent interview with TNT colleague, Ernie Johnson, in commemoration of his 50th birthday, Barkley expressed that he has exceeded all his own expectations.

That’s got to be an awesome feeling.

Happy Birthday, Sir Charles!

Thanks for posting Barkley HOF speech. I love watching these on YouTube. For some reason I’ve never ran across this particular one.
