Carmelo Anthony will miss Pacers match up due to suspension

The New York Knicks are in Indianapolis today to face the Pacers, but missing from the Knicks lineup will be star forward, Carmelo Anthony, who was suspended by VP of Basketball Operations, Stu Jackson, for actions stemming from his on court confrontation with Boston Celtics big man, Kevin Garnett during a game earlier this week.

Carmelo, allegedly upset by unfavorable words spoken to him by Garnett about his wife, LaLa Anthony (Garnett reportedly said she tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios), waited for Garnett outside the Celtics team bus to confront him.

Says Jackson,

There are no circumstances in which it is acceptable for a player to confront an opponent after a game,” Jackson said. “Carmelo Anthony attempted to engage with Kevin Garnett multiple times after Monday’s game and therefore a suspension was warranted.

According to the New York Post, Melo will lose $176,000.

That’s a lot of Cheerios, er, uh, I meant, money.

Whispers are that The Anthony’s have been separated or are experiencing marital problems. This could explain Melo’s sensitivity to the remarks, but any man would want to mollywop the person who spoke sideways about his wife.

Garnett is a cold piece of work. Y’all really gotta stop lettin’ KG get your heads this way.
