Beyonce talks career, family, and her pending Super Bowl performance with GQ Magazine

Over the years it has become more and more clear that Beyoncé is a perfectionist. With motherhood (Blue Ivy) and wife (Jay-Z) on her resumé, new music on the horizon, an HBO documentary on deck, a new Pepsi deal, and a much anticipated Super Bowl halftime performance scheduled, we will get to see JUST how much her hard work and dedication pays off.

The February issue of GQ Magazine features Bey on its cover and already it has set social media ablaze. The sneak peak photo of the cover was seen all across Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

Her interview with GQ reveals:

  • She has archived her entire life, including all interviews and performances she’s EVER done.
  • Each night, after a show, she watches a DVD of her performance before she lays head to pillow.
  • She likens her show prep to that of an athlete preparing for a game.
  • She perfects the execution of her moves and routines in such a way that when she hits the stage, she gets in a zone without having to think about what she’s supposed to do next.
  • She uses anger for fuel and used to punk her younger sister Solange’s bullies.
  • She understands, especially as a woman, the necessity of being in control of your destiny.
  • My favorite and final quote from the interview is this…

I now know that, yes, I am powerful,” she says. “I’m more powerful than my mind can even digest and understand.

If we all had a firm grasp on this concept, this truth, there might not be just one Bey.

    Ok, maybe that’s a stretch.

The NFL culminates its season Sunday, February 3, 2013 with Super Bowl XLVII, on CBS, 6:30 PM ET.

Get ready. The game could go either way, but Beyoncé is about to take it to the house on y’all.
