REPLAY: The T.O. Show, Season 3, Episode 1

Terrell Owens

The T.O. Show has entered its third season and right away we get a glimpse of Terrell Owens’ road to recovery from a torn ACL. Last season, he was playing for the Cincinnati Bengals, this season there’s no telling where he will end up, if anywhere.

The episode begins with T.O. traveling to Pensacola, Florida for knee surgery. He called his publicist/confidant Kita Williams to meet him and like the team player she is, she flew in right away.

When she walked into his room Terrell pranked her by faking a seizure, and that didn’t go over so well. It was funny, though.

Oh, and Kita keeps her hair laid. Love that.

Kita expressed concern for Terrell’s well-being and what the injury could mean for the rest of his career, saying,”Deep down inside, I think Terrell was way more freaked out than I was. I mean, his livelihood depends on football. This is how he makes his living, this is how he’s built his name.”

Glaringly absent was Kita’s business partner Mo (Monique Jackson), who also served as T.O.’s publicist. At the end of last season’s show, Mo quit after giving Terrell an ear full of choice words.

It will be interesting to see how they reconcile their differences this season. Terrell without both Mo and Kita in his corner just seems unnatural.

Not surprisingly, Terrell’s ex-girlfriend Kari showed up. He called her to be by his side during post-op. I don’t know what these two are going to do, or more so what Kari is going to do because the ball is in her court. She turned Terrell down on his marriage proposal last season and he still pines for her. She’s winning.

His surgeon, Dr. Andrews, who gave T.O. the knick name of “Old Hickory” because his bone was extra hard, was pleased with the outcome of the surgery and told T.O. and Kari that he should be recovered within four months. That’s quick for a torn ACL; I’m just saying…

Back at T.O.’s living quarters, Kita was surprised to see Kari, and asked if they were back together to which Kari answered no, making it clear that she and Terrell were “Just friends.”

Once T.O. Kari, and Kita had a chance to all talk together, it was revealed that Kari refused the marriage proposal because, as she put it, Terrell is a “hot mess.”

This in turn led T.O. to reveal that his maturation process has been slow, both personally and professionally. Kita considered this to be a break through, so hopefully we will get to see him make great strides this season because he faces an uphill battle to return to the game he loves and a mountain to climb if he wants Kari back.

I’m anticipating things to rev up notch next week….
