Refunds Set For Chicago Bulls Fans If There Is No NBA Season

Chicago Bulls

For those who don’t know, the Chicago Bulls have consistently lead the league in NBA fan attendance for years.  Win or lose, good weather or bad, Bulls fans trek to the United Center in droves to support their team.

Impressively, the Bulls organization has taken a bold step to ensure its fan base that in the event of a lost season due to the current lockout, they won’t be left in the cold….

….refunds will be issued for tickets already purchased.

From Bulls marketing chief Steve Schanwald via the Chicago Sun-Times:

‘‘None of our fans will lose money,’’ Schanwald said Wednesday. ‘‘If there is no season, we will refund their money with interest.’’

That’s good news for fans, who already have purchased some 16,000 season tickets, plus thousands of single-game tickets. The same goes for corporate sponsors, suite renters and advertisers.

‘‘The Bulls have been around a long time and expect to be around much longer,’’ Schanwald said. ‘‘As long as we are in business, we will treat our season-ticket holders, our sponsors and other supporters fairly.’’

Checkmate.

This is a win/win for the Chicago Bulls.  Whether the next NBA season is lost or not, they have positioned themselves as an unselfish product.  The City of Chicago is a blue collar town and loyalty speaks volumes.  The organization isn’t taking the fans for granted and this gesture is old-fashioned courting at its best.
