Joakim Noah‘s grandfather, Zacharie, had the honor and pleasure of watching, for the very first time, the Chicago Bull’s star play in an NBA game. GrandPa Zacharie is from the Republic of Cameroon. Also in attendance at Tuesday’s game was Noah’s sister, Yelena.
Noah gave Zacharie much to be proud of as he finished the game against the Indiana Pacers with 14 pts, 8 boards, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 4 blocks.
After the game, Noah entered the stands to embrace his grandfather, who was clearly moved by the whole experience….
Athleticism and talent runs in the family. Noah’s grandfather was a soccer champ, winning a French Cup in 1961, and his father, Yannick Noah, was a tennis champ, who won the French Open in 1983. Yannick is also an accomplished singer and philanthropist. Yelena Noah is a model, and his mother Celcilia Rodhe was Ms. Sweden in 1978. Rodhe is now an artist/sculptor.
