Geno Smith drafted by the New York Jets
Geno Smith is the newest member of the New York Jets.
After waiting the entire day and eventually slipping out of the first round of the draft, Smith returned to Radio City Music Hall, Friday, to hear his name called and realize his dream.
Smith joins a crowded quarterback corp that includes starter Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow, and Davis Garrard.
The Jets pick of Smith can be seen as a continuation of the controversy they invited when they took Tebow into the fold last season, but this is a great opportunity for him to compete for the job.
Smith finished a four-year career at West Virginia with a 67.4 completion percentage and 98 career touchdowns.
He received a very special tweet of encouragement from Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, Thursday evening, while he sat with frustration amongst his agent and family, which obviously proved true.
Jets fans, chime in!
